Website Series(4)

Previously, I analysed different artists’ websites. From this point onward, I will focus on developing my own website.

As I have observed, and in line with my own preference, the overall direction of the website will be minimal. When considering what tabs should be included, I decided that installation works are the core of my practice. Therefore, the homepage will also function as the Installation section, making it the first and primary tab.

The second tab will be Performance. As my interest in performance has been increasing, and I expect to continue working in this format, it feels appropriate to position it prominently. The third tab will be Audio, as this is something I have consistently worked with and will likely continue to revisit.

The fourth tab will be Visual Works. This section is still under consideration, but it will likely include drawings and sketches—possibly including diagrams or plans developed during my working process.

The fifth tab will be Curriculum Vitae, which will present information about myself. Finally, there will be a Contact tab.

When structuring the first Installation section, I initially considered presenting the works in a compact grid format similar to Zimoun’s website. However, given that I currently have a relatively small number of works, I decided it would be more effective to present them individually.

Each work occupies a full screen, with a brief description placed beside it so that viewers can quickly understand the piece. On the left side, multiple images related to the work are displayed, with the option to enlarge them. At the top left, there is a button linking to a video of the work. The text description is intentionally kept concise—limited to two or three lines—so that it does not exceed the height of the images. At the bottom, a downward arrow encourages users to scroll and explore the next work.

The second tab, Performance, follows a similar structure to the Installation section. The main difference is that, instead of listing key components used in each work, I include the location where each performance took place.

In the third tab, Audio Pieces, I arranged four audio works per row. Beneath each piece, I included the title, composer, and year. Additionally, I provided details such as duration, tools or methods used in composition, release format, and number of channels.

The fourth tab, Visual Works, is still in progress. At the moment, I am considering displaying two to three works per screen, with the title and year placed underneath each.

In the fifth tab, Curriculum Vitae, I have currently included my artist statement and a photograph. However, I am not fully satisfied with the image and may replace it later. I am also considering whether to include a short biography.

The final tab, Contact, is another area I am reconsidering. At the moment, I am using the built-in email form provided by Readymag, placed centrally on the page. However, the text input area feels too limited, which could create a poor user experience. For that reason, I am likely to redesign this section using a different approach.

For now, this is the current state of development. For the areas that remain unresolved, I plan to test multiple variations before finalising the design.
