CV Series(3)

Following on from before, I finalised my CV document independently by including sections on my skills and collaboration experience. I see both skills and collaboration history as ways of opening up opportunities to work with others. Even if I do not necessarily enter a sound design company, I believe these are still essential components within a CV.

What I plan to do next is to develop the CV section within my website in more detail.

In the CV document itself, I concluded with the artist statement, and presented more detailed information—such as education and skills—through structured formats like lists or tables. However, for the website, I think it is more appropriate to present most of this information in written form. With this in mind, I want to think through this approach in today’s blog post.

For the first paragraph, I included the artist statement from my CV, as the most important point is to communicate what kind of artistic practice I have. The main challenge I am currently considering is how to construct the second paragraph. What I want to convey here is both my background and my skills. To present these naturally, I thought it would be effective to show the transition from my earlier work to my current practice.

My early works were primarily experimental electronic music, often created through algorithmic approaches using Ableton Live. Based on this, I drafted the following paragraph:

He has consistently developed an audio-based practice alongside his installation and performance works. With a background in classical composition, his early engagement with modernist structures expanded into explorations of algorithmic composition and musique concrète. Working across both traditional instruments and digital environments such as Max/MSP and Ableton Live, his approach to sound reflects an ongoing interest in systems, processes, and the transformation of material. This has also led to various collaborative projects, through which his compositional methods continue to evolve.

Rather than simply listing my skills or experience, this approach allows them to be embedded within the description of my practice. Additionally, the final sentence subtly communicates that I am open to collaboration.

For now, I think this is an appropriate point to conclude the website CV section. Once I further develop the remaining technical and visual works, the website itself should be close to completion.
