Feedback for Editing

I received a rough cut from my collaborator and sent him time-stamped feedback on which parts needed fixing to make the editing process easier for him.

  1. 7:48 – Video stutters
  2. 8:30 – Audio cuts out first
  3. 10:40 – Audio continues (since the interview keeps going in the background, it might be better to cut the video before the money is placed)
  4. 10:43 – Video stutters
  5. 11:30 – Sync issue
  6. 11:47 – Placing the money upright or putting the mic down feels a bit out of place. (It might be better to hold the frame with the money already standing to secure some time)
  7. 12:00 – When introducing the interpreter (me), it might feel more natural if the close-up shot comes a bit sooner. (I’ll leave this up to your judgment)
  8. 12:12 – Slight video freeze. Not sure if this happened during downscaling or if the original file also has this issue
  9. 12:19 – Audio continues (we should probably cut the audio earlier)
  10. 12:22 – Your voice doesn’t come through (I might need to fix this myself)
  11. 13:57 – Audio starts too early (not very distracting, but if possible, trimming the beginning of the audio would help)
  12. 14:33 – Audio ends slightly late (same as above)
  13. 14:38 – Slight sync issue
  14. 15:50 – Audio ends early (I might fix this, or we could edit the cut to place the money slightly earlier)
  15. 16:01 – Feels a bit awkward that it ends with a close-up of you putting down the mic, then cuts to you picking it up again (we could transition the scene earlier or delay the cut a bit more)
  16. 16:01 – Audio starts early (could trim the beginning, or I can cut and send it to you)
  17. 16:40 – Audio ends early (might be better to delay the cut and stretch the sound a bit)
  18. 16:59 – Audio starts slightly early
  19. 17:02 – Video stutters again here, possibly due to Zoom lag on the day of filming
  20. 17:48 – Audio starts early
  21. 18:32 – Video stutters
  22. 20:38 – Audio lingers for too long
  23. 21:00 – Might feel more natural to either end here with a blur or just use the shot at 21:22
  24. Overall, the sound of the tombstone is a bit too quiet during the three-way conversation – I’ll raise the volume on my end

Based on this, he agreed to revise the video, and in two days, I’ll receive the edited version and also check how he plans to handle the installation.
