I received the edited video based on the feedback I previously gave to the collaborator. What I am going to do now is to review the video again and finalize the sound mastering.

Before that, my collaborator’s exhibition had started, so I went to see how our work was installed there. The video we created together was one of three videos on display; the other two were performance videos centered around monument but within the same thematic concept. A large frame was hanging from the ceiling, with the banknotes we used suspended in the middle. On one side, a video of the tombstone was projected, and from that video, a rope extended across the building, physically connecting the installation. According to my collaborator, there were many challenges during the installation process, and some parts didn’t go as planned, but overall, I think the installation turned out quite well.
When reviewing the re-edited video, I noticed a few moments where the sound and visuals were slightly out of sync, so I adjusted those parts myself. Aside from that, there were hardly any other edits needed. I also extracted the audio file separately and did some simple mastering in Ableton Live.
I balanced the overall sound with a compressor and adjusted the volume levels where needed. Using an equalizer, I removed frequencies below 20Hz in the low end. Since much of the adjustment had already been done during the mixing stage, there wasn’t much to fix or edit. As a final touch, I added the title and credits at the beginning and end of the video.
With this, all the work has been completed. Now, I plan to reflect on the entire process, reviewing what worked well, what could be improved in the collaboration, and feedback on the work itself, and write a reflective piece.
