The last material we recorded is wood. Similar to thread, wood is a material used in many musical instruments around the world. Wood is rarely used as a sound-producing instrument on its own, but because of its moderate resonance and the fact that it is easier to work than stone or iron, it is often used in all parts of an instrument, including the body and resonator plate. Many traditional Korean instruments are also used as percussion instruments, either as resonators or by themselves, such as the Chug, which is made by carving a pine tree into a hollow box-like shape and striking it with a wooden stick, and the Eo, which is made by carving a tiger-shaped wooden rake on the back and scraping the rake with a wooden stick.

In my recordings, I used different types of branches to create different sounds. I was able to create more sounds than I thought, including various sounds from different thicknesses and sounds from thorns embedded in the wood.
