The material for this recording is stone. There are only two instruments in Korean traditional music that use stones: the Pyeongyeong and the Teuggyeong. The Pyeongyeong is made by carving stones into the shape of the letter ‘ㄱ’ in Korean, and the thickness of the stones is adjusted to match the pitch. The Teuggyeong is made in a similar way to the Pyeongyeong, except that it has only one stone and is struck only once at the beginning or end of the song.

I used two different stones, a large one and a small one, to create the sound, focusing on the sound of the stones hitting each other and the sound of the stones rubbing together. What I found interesting about the recording was that hitting the top of the stone and hitting the side of the stone sounded different, and I guess that the sound is different when the opposite side of the sound source is blocked or not.
